A flurry of drafts for me over the weekend, probably the same for you guys.
Now, who to start?
As we pioneered last year, let’s look at the potential shootouts for week 1, shall we?
IND-NO
Too bad this match up isn’t in the FFTOC playoffs. Remember this is Thursday’s game, so jump on board.
ARI-SF
Oddsmakers seem to like these clubs’ scoring power (SF was 16th last year, ARI 16th), maybe at least on eachother. Both squads have new OCs in place, although SF’s was a promotion, suggesting little change. Might want to get into the game a little, just so you can say you did when they go off and everybody’s scrambling for Alex Smith on waivers.
NYG-DAL
Who actually cares that Parcells went back channels to express interest in the GMen’s GM position? He is so old-news. I would love to see the “Boys break out offensively, and show that Parcells didn’t know what he had.. Both squads have new OCs in place, so something may happen here.
CAR-STL
I had Steve Smith rated very high this year, but I don’t know about that offense, although they did change OCs, with that “candy” zone blocking scheme. Drew Bennett (banged up) is intriguing in this one, just to see how the STL #3 WR shakes out in a potential shoot out.
PHI-GB
GB promoted their new OC, so we don’t see a lot of change, unless those RBs prove to be useless, and they might be throwing 40+ per game. But the OC singed off those RBs, so he’s stuck with them. A good bellweather game, just to see how the clubs wish to attack this year. Hard to imgine a tight game here, so let’em rip with the WRs.
